Six Flags to feature new Wii video game
The Business Review (Albany)
Six Flags Inc. is expanding its partnership with Nintendo to prominently feature the new Wii Sports Resort video game.
The game, which features 12 different sports activities including archery, basketball and table tennis, will be showcased at nine participating theme parks. Six Flags' Great Escape in Queensbury will not initially have the game.
Wii Sports Resort will be available as part of the Wii Experience at the participating parks and will also be featured in an in-park media program. The game will be available to park patrons during the July 4th weekend prior to the game’s retail launch date of July 26.
“We’re excited to expand our partnership with Nintendo and bring this exciting pre-launch opportunity to our entertainment-seeking guests,” says David McKillips, Six Flags senior vice president of corporate alliances. “As proven over the last two seasons, Six Flags continues to provide an effective mix of brand exposure and experiential marketing benefits to help drive awareness, sampling and, ultimately, sales for our partners.”
Six Flags, headquartered in New York City, is the world’s largest regional theme park company with 20 parks across the United States, Mexico and Canada.
