Delta to add flights to Latin America and Caribbean

Delta Air Lines Inc. is ramping up its Caribbean and Latin American service to popular winter getaway destinations.
The Atlanta-based carrier said Monday it is adding nine new flights and boosting its schedules to six destinations starting in mid to late December.
Between Dec. 18 and Dec. 21, Delta (NYSE: DAL) will launch new routes from Atlanta to Tegucigalpa, Honduras; Guayaquil, Ecuador; Manaus, Brazil; and Recife-Fortaleza, Brazil. Delta will also add an Atlanta- Santiago, Dominican Republic flight.
Between Dec. 18 and Dec. 20, Delta will add flights from New York’s John F. Kennedy International Airport to Buenos Aires, Argentina; Bogota, Colombia and Bonaire. On Dec. 27, Delta adds a connection between Nashville, Tenn., and Cancun, Mexico.
“Latin America and the Caribbean are the fastest-growing regions this season for Delta, offering customers variety and plenty of choices,” Christophe Didier, Delta vice president of sales and government affairs for Latin America and the Caribbean said in a news release.
Delta is a major carrier out of Birmingham International Airport.
