Jimenez to leave Catholic Health Partners for missionary work

Catholic Healthcare Partners’ long-serving chief operating officer, David Jimenez, will retire on April 30, 2010, the Cincinnati-based health system announced.
He is leaving “to follow a calling to do more hands-on missionary service,” according to a press release from CHP.
Steven Mickus, CEO of the system’s northern division, will transition into the role of COO. He will continue to serve as CEO of CHP’s northern division during and after the transition.
“David is one of my most trusted and respected confidants and friends," said Michael Connelly, CEO of CHP. “While we will miss David’s counsel, wisdom, leadership and humor, I am personally pleased for him and his family and appreciative that we will have David’s continued leadership for another year and a half.”
CHP, which operates 33 hospitals and 14 long-term care facilities in five states, is the parent of Mercy Health Partners in Greater Cincinnati. It has nearly 37,000 employees and $3.7 billion in net operating revenue.
“I see my service and work at CHP as a true divine calling and a blessing to both me and my family,” Jimenez said. “I am looking forward to working with Steve to ensure a smooth and successful transition so that CHP can continue to fulfill its mission.”
Mickus will remain based in Toledo, the health system said.
