New partner in charge coming at Jones Day
Business First of Columbus
A new partner in charge is stepping in at Jones Day’s Columbus office.
The firm, which has 75 lawyers in Columbus, said partner Liza Kessler will step into the post effective Jan. 1.
Kessler succeeds Fordham Huffman, who has been partner in charge for 14 years. Huffman will lead a new practice group focused on insurance liability and coverage litigation, but he’ll remain a member of Jones Day’s advisory committee, the firm said.
Kessler, whose primary area of practice is product liability, represented tobacco giant R.J. Reynolds in a 2005 smoking and health case that brought down a verdict in the company’s favor after a six-week trial in Manhattan.
Jones Day, Central Ohio’s sixth-largest law firm, has 30 offices nationwide with more than 2,300 lawyers.
