MAKING MEDICINE PERSONAL

Children's Mercy Hospitals and Clinics wants to boost a potentially profitable piece of the Kansas City region's biotech industry — development of pediatric drugs. The hospital's Center for Personalized Medicine and Therapeutic Innovation plans to open a clinic later this year that will look for genetic clues as to why young patients don't respond as expected to medications.
