Governor Rendell Comments on Changes to Pennsylvania's Minimum Wage Law

Pennsylvania's Rate of $7.15/hour Still Higher Than Federal Increase

HARRISBURG, Pa., July 24 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- On a day when the federal minimum wage increased, Governor Edward G. Rendell commented on the duty to ensure that all workers receive a fair wage -- a principle that guided him in 2006 as he fought to increase Pennsylvania's minimum wage, which is currently $7.15 per hour. The federal minimum wage increased today to $6.55 per hour.

"Pennsylvania, as well as the entire country, was founded on appreciating the value of hard work," Governor Rendell said. "For too long that value was not being recognized.
