Funding for Plextronics

Plextronics Inc. announced Wednesday that it received $1.125 million in funding from the United States Display Consortium, a government-funded group.
The funding is stage two of a $1.8 million contract that supports the development of Plextronics' Plexcore technology, which increases the lifetime and efficiency of organic light emitting diode displays used with flat panel displays.
The funding is designed to prepare Harmar Township-based Plextronics' product for commercialization.
"It's a definite endorsement of the technology by their member companies," said Jennifer Alexander Honig, a spokeswoman with Plextronics.
