Ohio Valley General to dedicate new surgery, maternity center
Pittsburgh Business Times - by Kris B. Mamula
Ohio Valley General Hospital will dedicate its $30 million surgery and maternity center on Friday at its main campus in Kennedy Township.
The 50,000-square-foot center will be dedicated at a private ceremony, followed by a community health fair on Saturday. The hospital's new glass, four-story wing extends from the west side of the building.
The new surgical floor has six operating rooms with two that accommodate orthopedic procedures and a seventh dedicated to urological procedures. The maternity floor has 10 private rooms, four labor-delivery-recovery rooms, and nursery.
Construction began in March 2005 and represents Ohio Valley's largest capital outlay since the hospital's fourth floor was added in 1993. Downtown-based Burt Hill designed the building and Burchick Construction Co., which is based in Ross Township, was the general contractor.
