CCAC to form search committee for new president

Pittsburgh Business Times - by Susan Paff

The Community College of Allegheny County said it will form a search committee to find a replacement for exiting president Stewart Sutin.

Trustees approved plans for a 25-member committee at Thursday evening's board meeting.

Helen Kaiser, director of public relations, said the college plans to announce members of the panel next week.

"It will be a large committee because they wanted to be very inclusive and get input from all of the constituents of the college," she said.

Kaiser said the search committee will include college representatives and board members, as well as community representatives from the education, labor, nonprofit, minority rights and technology sectors.

Sutin, who announced in September 2006 he was resigning from the post one year before his contract ended, will remain president until July 31.

CCAC has four campuses and six college centers in the region.
