Dow loses 212 points by Thursday close; CONSOL down 5 percent

Wall Street tumbled Thursday as the Dow Jones Industrial Average dropped 212.74 points or 2.50 percent to 8,291.32 by the end of trading. Nasdaq fell 49.20 points or 2.67 percent to 1,796.52.

A cross-section of companies operating in Pittsburgh all took hits. The deepest percentage drop was by CONSOL Energy Inc. (NYSE:CNX), down 5.14 percent to $32.13

Here’s how others fared:

  • Alcoa Inc. (NYSE:AA), down 4.54 percent to $9.88
  • Allegheny Energy Inc. (NYSE:AYE), down 4.77 percent to $24.97
  • Allegheny Technologies Inc. (NYSE:ATI), down 4.03 percent to $34.28
  • American Eagle Outfitters Inc. (NYSE:AEO), down 4.35 percent to $13.64
  • Bank of New York Mellon Corp. (NYSE:BK), down 3.90 percent to $27.57
  • CB Richard Ellis Group Inc. (NYSE:CBG), down 3.81 percent to $8.59
  • Dick’s Sporting Goods (NYSE:DKS), down 2.11 percent to $16.69
  • Federated Investors Inc. (NYSE:FII), down 2.91 percent to $23.37
  • First Niagara Financial Group Inc. (NYSE:FNFG), down 3.18 percent to $11.27
  • H.J.Heinz Co. (NYSE:HNZ), down 2.45 percent to $35.88
  • Kennametal Inc. (NYSE:KMT), down 2.13 percent to $19.29
  • Koppers Holdings Inc. (NYSE:KOP), down 3.38 percent to $25.98
  • Mylan Inc. (Nasdaq:MYL), down 2.97 percent to $12.42
  • PNC Financial Services Group Inc. (NYSE:PNC), down 3.76 percent to $36.87
  • PPG Industries Inc. (NYSE:PPG), down 3.13 percent to $42.41
  • U.S. Steel Corp. (NYSE:X), down 1.24 percent to $34.36
  • WABTEC Corp. (NYSE:WAB), down 2.52 percent to $32.07
  • WESCO International Inc. (NYSE:WCC), down 5.01 percent to $24.10
