Special Olympics brings 750 athletes to Davis

About 750 Special Olympics athletes are expected to participate this weekend in the Northern California Special Olympics Summer Games at the University of California Davis.
The event, which runs Friday to Sunday, is free and open to the public.
The competition will include track and field, tennis and aquatics. Separately, a bocce competition will be held in Martinez.
An athlete parade and opening ceremonies will be held Friday night at Aggie Stadium. A fundraising walk/run on Saturday morning begins and ends at A-Street Field near Toomey Field.
