As part of its nationwide expansion plan, FedEx Ground has opened an automated distribution center in Pompano Beach.
FedEx said the 215,377-square-foot center will add more than 200 new jobs. The facility is triple the size of the two company operations in Fort Lauderdale and Pompano Beach that it replaces.
The center, at 2700 N.W. 25th St., has advanced package-sorting systems that can process 12,000 packages an hour.
Moon Township, Pa.-based FedEx Ground is the small-package ground delivery unit of FedEx Corp. (NYSE: FDX).
