Family Care Health Centers to help youth with mental, drug problems

Family Care Health Centers has been awarded a $216,888 grant by the Missouri Foundation for Health.

The grant will provide funding for a total of three years and will allow Family Care to implement a program to screen, assess and treat patients, 10-21 years of age, with both mental health disorders and substance abuse problems.

Family Care will also develop a screening tool and training for primary care pediatric and family medicine providers to identify mental health and substance abuse disorders in youth and expand staff to provide onsite mental health providers to diagnose and treat youth with these co-occurring disorders.

The Missouri Foundation for Health is a philanthropic organization dedicated to improving the health of the people in the communities it serves.

Family Care Health Centers is dedicated to providing affordable and accessible comprehensive primary health-care services to St. Louis residents.
